Novice Competition Manchester

Dear all,

We’re now just a month away from the GBDF Novice Championships to be held at the great Manchester Aquatics Centre and I thought it was time to remind everyone to get their entries in before the closing date on the 1st September, but also to give you some information on the party and accommodation we have arranged.

There are a number of rooms already provisionally booked for divers at this event, these are at the Manchester Travel Inn Metro, The Circus, 112-114 Portland St, Manchester M1 4WB. The contact ‘phone number for this hotel is 0870 2388815.

The room rate is £49.95 per room, and these can take either 3 children or two adults, either as a twin, double, or a family room.

Please note that these rooms are only held until the 6th September.

This hotel has a good bar and restaurant, and is only about a 10 minute walk from the pool, in the centre of Manchester. It was used recently for a novice development weekend and was a great place to use.

A party has been arranged at the pool, with the inflatables being available in the main pool once the public have left at about 6.30 pm and food/ music available in the activity room. I can say from experience this past weekend that the inflatable in the pool is a great attraction for the kids, at least those up to about 50 years old!

A lot of effort has been put in by the Manchester people to organise this event, and it promises to be a great competition, and good fun too ! So try and make sure you get your entries in as soon as you can so that we have the opportunity to organise the programme and timings well in advance.
